Cellar Keeper Auto Place Skill Guide

Let the skill snap bottles into correct slots — when cooldown and context align.

Auto Place Skill in Cellar Keeper

Auto Place is a late-game luxury skill in Cellar Keeper’s Cozy Mode. It automates snapping a held bottle into its correct slot on a shelf when conditions match — reducing mis-clicks on high racks and speeding the final inches of a ten-bottle carry. It does not replace reading labels, map symbols, or shelf claim rules; it assists execution once you already chose the right bottle.

On the Skills Tier List, Auto Place ranks below essentials like Batch Grab and Spot Matches because early Cellar Keeper bottlenecks are finding bottles, not clicking them onto shelves.

What Auto Place does

Typical behaviour when activated (confirm per level in-game):

  1. Stand at a shelf with a bottle in hand (or selected from carry).
  2. Activate Auto Place during its cooldown window.
  3. The skill places the bottle into the next valid slot if wine type, brand, and series order align.

If placement would gray-flash (wrong brand claim, wrong series slot), Auto Place should not force an invalid state — but always watch feedback. Yellow means proceed; gray means manual fix.

Why Auto Place is late priority

Skill points are finite. Early upgrades should fund:

  • Batch Grab — multi-pickup from across the cellar.
  • Spot Matches — visual filtering of thousands of labels.
  • Quick Order and Target Hint — midgame carry and routing.

Auto Place shines when you already know destinations and merely want to reduce repetitive clicking during long Cozy sessions toward Perfect Order or Master Organizer (200 racks).

Cooldown reality

Like most Cellar Keeper skills except Sprint and Jump, Auto Place runs on a cooldown that starts surprisingly long at level 1. Each of the five upgrades shortens cooldown and improves reliability — but never removes the need to activate manually.

Optional community tip: relaunching the game refreshes cooldowns without undoing bottle progress. Useful between wings; not required for completion.

Synergy with Quick Order

Quick Order sequences your carry list; Auto Place executes the next slot quickly. Together they turn a ten-bottle haul into a smooth shelf completion — especially on series with many slots.

Without Quick Order, Auto Place may assist the wrong bottle in your queue if pickup order was chaotic.

Mode limitations

Speedrun Mode disables Auto Place. Speedrun players rely on manual precision — plan accordingly for No Shortcuts.

Hardcore Mode keeps Auto Place in Cozy setups but careless movement can still break bottles.

Common mistakes

  • Buying Auto Place before Batch Grab max — you still cannot gather bottles efficiently.
  • Assuming Auto Place finds bottles — it places; Spot Matches and Batch Grab find.
  • Ignoring gray flashes because Auto Place “should know” — always verify yellow feedback.

Peak Efficiency requirement

Peak Efficiency requires every skill maxed including Auto Place. Budget points late in your Cozy run or during post-completion cleanup if you rushed essentials first.

Auto Place is the cherry on a mature Cozy build — not the foundation. Level it when clicking fatigue rivals walking fatigue.

Comparison with manual placement

Manual placement teaches label literacy that Speedrun Mode later demands. Auto Place does not shortcut that learning — it only removes repetitive mouse clicks once you already read the label correctly. Many keepers disable Auto Place mentally during early wings even after purchasing it, preferring to internalise yellow versus gray feedback before automation dulls attention.

During Hardcore Mode, Auto Place does not prevent breakage from bumping stacks while reaching high slots. Move carefully even when the skill offers a snap placement.

Skill point budgeting example

A typical Cozy run toward Peak Efficiency might max Batch Grab and Spot Matches by rack 50, Quick Order and Target Hint by rack 150, Sprint by rack 250, Auto Place by rack 350, and Jump last. Exact pacing varies — see How to Complete the Cellar for wing order that maximises shelf completions per hour.
