Cellar Keeper August 2026 Hotfixes
What changed in the first week after launch — and why it matters for completion.
Cellar Keeper launched on August 6, 2026, and EgoTrampoline shipped three numbered hotfixes within the first launch week. None of them add a second cellar or rebalance skill cooldowns, but they do change how keepers hunt the last misplaced bottles and how you read certain labels. This page summarises Hotfix #1, Hotfix #2, and Hotfix #3 based on verified player reports and the Windows client checked after August 9, 2026.
Always confirm your build on the Steam store page before treating wiki notes as current. Fan guides written during launch day may still reference pre-hotfix spellings.
Hotfix timeline at a glance
| Patch | Focus | Player impact |
|---|---|---|
| Hotfix #1 | Bottle label spelling + map symbols | Fixes false “missing bottle” searches |
| Hotfix #2 | More label fixes + carry counter UI | Easier Juggling Act tracking |
| Hotfix #3 | Recover Missing Bottles button | Late-game rescue when six or fewer remain |
Hotfix #1 — label and map corrections
The first post-launch patch corrected transcription errors on fictional bottle brands and matching cabinet map symbols. The most cited example: a Kestrel Ridge spelling error on a Sangiovese label, plus a corrected Riesling symbol on cellar maps.
Why this matters for sorting
Cellar Keeper asks you to match wine type (label line two) to central map symbols. When a guide or your memory says “Riesling goes to symbol X” but the live client shows symbol Y after Hotfix #1, you may think a bottle is missing when it is actually waiting for the updated correspondence.
What to do: Update the game, reread the bottle’s variety on the label, and check the current map icon — do not invent a second bottle identity from outdated screenshots. If label and map still disagree after updating, postpone that placement; guessing hides the real straggler.

Hotfix #2 — additional naming fixes and carry counter
Hotfix #2 continued label and spelling corrections across more fictional brands. EgoTrampoline did not publish a complete changelog of every renamed bottle, so community wikis cannot reproduce a full before/after catalog — and this wiki intentionally avoids launch-week brand dumps for the same reason.
Carry counter UI
Hotfix #2 added a current-carry counter to the HUD. That directly supports the Juggling Act achievement (hold ten bottles at once). Before the counter, keepers counted slots manually on the left-side carry list.
You only need to reach ten bottles once for the trophy; after that, filling every trip with random nearby labels is less useful than hauling toward a single destination rack. See the Achievements hub for the full ten-trophy list.
Hotfix #3 — Recover Missing Bottles
The third hotfix introduced Recover Missing Bottles in the pause menu. This is the biggest quality-of-life change for keepers stuck at 99% completion with a handful of bottles left unplaced.
How the feature works
- Pause the game (Escape or equivalent).
- Select Recover Missing Bottles when it appears.
- The game attempts to surface bottles that may have become inaccessible or hard to locate.
Player reports indicate the button becomes available when you have six or fewer unplaced bottles remaining in your save. It does not replace careful shelf audits during normal mid-game progress — it is a rescue tool for the final stretch.

What Recover Missing Bottles does not do
- It does not fix gray-flash wrong placements on shelves you thought were correct — you may still need to pull and rebuild poisoned series.
- It does not unlock No Shortcuts — that trophy requires a Speedrun Mode clear with no skill upgrades.
- It does not retroactively rename bottles; stay on the latest client for label/map parity.
Achievement implications after hotfixes
Steam achievement requirements did not change with these hotfixes, but interpretation did:
- Perfect Order — complete every rack and fully restore the cellar (story completion).
- Master Organizer — complete 200 racks (midpoint milestone, not Speedrun).
- Keeper of the Cellar — complete 400 racks (cellar may still be incomplete).
- No Shortcuts — complete Speedrun Mode (the only mode-locked trophy).
See Perfect Order, No Shortcuts, and the corrected Achievements hub.
Recommended post-hotfix checklist
- Verify game version via Steam → Properties → Updates.
- Re-read any bottle that blocked progress using current labels and map symbols.
- If six or fewer bottles remain, try Recover Missing Bottles before a full-cellar manual sweep.
- For Juggling Act, watch the Hotfix #2 carry counter while loading ten slots once.
- After Perfect Order, switch to Speedrun Mode only for No Shortcuts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many hotfixes did Cellar Keeper get in August 2026?
Three numbered hotfixes shipped in the first launch week: label/map fixes (Hotfix #1), more label fixes plus a carry counter (Hotfix #2), and Recover Missing Bottles (Hotfix #3).
When does Recover Missing Bottles appear?
Player reports say the pause-menu button shows when six or fewer unplaced bottles remain. Update to Hotfix #3 or later via Steam.
Did hotfixes change achievement requirements?
No. Requirements stay the same on Steam. Wiki pages were corrected to match official descriptions — Master Organizer is 200 racks; No Shortcuts is Speedrun Mode.
Should I replay after Hotfix #1 label changes?
Usually no. Update the client and reread affected labels against the current map. Only rebuild shelves if a placement now gray-flashes.
