Cellar Keeper Jump Skill Guide
Vertical mobility for cellar layouts with steps, ledges, and raised platforms.
Jump is the most situational of Cellar Keeper’s seven Cozy Mode skills. It aids vertical navigation — stepping up short ledges, raised platforms, or uneven cellar terrain that would otherwise force long detours. Paired with Sprint for horizontal speed, Jump completes the movement pair on the Skills Tier List.
Most keepers finish the cellar without heavily relying on Jump, but Peak Efficiency still requires maxing it — the achievement checks “unlock every skill,” not “use every skill constantly.”
What Jump does
Activate Jump to clear vertical obstacles or reach slightly elevated bottle piles. Five upgrade levels typically improve height, cooldown, or control — confirm in-game tooltips after each purchase.
Jump does not help with:
- Label reading or wine type matching.
- Remote bottle pickup (Batch Grab).
- Cabinet destination hints (Target Hint).
Priority: last or nearly last
Community consensus ranks Jump lowest among the seven skills for raw sorting efficiency:
- Batch Grab + Spot Matches (essential).
- Quick Order + Target Hint (midgame).
- Sprint (horizontal movement).
- Auto Place (late placement luxury).
- Jump (situational vertical aid).
Upgrade Jump when you notice specific cellar zones where detours annoy you — not on hour one when every bottle is on the floor.
Layout-dependent value
Cellar Keeper’s atmospheric underground environment includes varied elevation. Jump pays off when:
- A bottle cluster sits on a raised platform visible but awkward on foot.
- Shortcuts over low barriers save thirty seconds per trip multiplied across hundreds of carries.
Jump pays off less in flat wings where Sprint alone covers routing needs.
Hardcore breakage caution
In Hardcore Mode, landing awkwardly near bottle stacks risks breakage. Jump is not an excuse for reckless movement with a full ten-bottle carry.
Speedrun Mode absence
Speedrun disables Jump. Memorise walkable routes without vertical shortcuts before No Shortcuts attempts.
Peak Efficiency requirement
Even if you never press Jump after buying it, Peak Efficiency demands level 5. Reserve skill points from late-game shelf completions — see How to Prioritize Skills for budgeting when essentials are already maxed.
Controller versus keyboard
Jump timing may feel different on controller versus mouse-and-keyboard setups. Test bindings in Controls hub during a low-stakes Cozy session before a Hardcore run.

Jump is the skill you buy for completeness and occasional convenience — not because the cellar demands acrobatics. Level it when essentials are maxed and vertical detours still annoy you.
Identifying Jump-worthy zones
Walk your cellar once with Jump unpurchased and note every moment you think “I wish I could step up there.” If that list is empty after ten hours, Jump still matters for Peak Efficiency but may stay unused. If the list has three recurring bottlenecks, Jump pays for itself in sanity.
Jump and map literacy
Jump shortcuts do not replace Cellar Layout knowledge. A vertical skip saves seconds; reading the central map saves minutes. Learn symbols first, Jump second.
Post-completion Cozy files
Keepers chasing leftover skill points on a second Cozy save often buy Jump last while cleaning optional shelves. That is a valid strategy — essentials first on file one, Jump completion on file two.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Jump important in Cellar Keeper?
It is situational. Most sorting efficiency comes from Batch Grab and Spot Matches. Jump helps specific vertical layouts.
When should I upgrade Jump?
Late, after essential and midgame skills. Often the last purchase before Peak Efficiency.
Does Jump work in Speedrun Mode?
No. All Cozy skills are disabled in Speedrun.
Is Jump required for Peak Efficiency?
Yes. All seven skills must be maxed, including Jump.
